- AD seach for object creator?
- Posted by Eric on February 19th, 2004
New to AD, Is there a way to seach for an object creator
in AD??
Or is there a way to pull all users created by a
paticular user?
For example if I have a large "account operators" group
and I have a user in my AD that I want to know who
created this user. Obvious internal security
application. I would like to put together some sort of
rough report on users made and by whom.
thanks for the help.

Not that I am aware.
The object creator isn't maintained though if no one changed it you can look
at the creator/owner value of the object in the security descriptor. As to
when it was created, you can look at the whencreated attribute which is a
standard LDAP attribute that can be searched.
