- adprep /domainprep is not working

Three of my servers are domain controllers.
All are running 2000 server and all service packs and hotfixes are
installed.
I have run adprep /forestprep with success
When typing adprep /domainprep nothing happens.
After one second the process seems to over, but nothing has been done.
There is no message from adprep.
When trying to upgrade to Server 2003 I'm not allowed, because adprep
/domainprep has not been run.
What to do now?
Return server 2003 and get the money back?

Did you run adprep /domainprep on the IM?
One way to verify if the task succeeded is to look for this container, if
it's been created the prep succeeded:
-CN=Windows2003Update,CN=DomainUpdates,CN=System,
DC=<domain>

I am having a similar issue. I have a Windows 2000
network and was trying to install Windows 2003 on a new
server with Exchange 2003. I was able to install Active
Directory on the new server but it will not replicate
with the 2000 AD servers. Trying to find out why. I will
probably just stick Win2000/Exchange 2000 for now until
MS gets some service packs out.
Apparantly doing an upgrade from 2000 is not a great idea
at this point since Windows 2003 just came out. I have
been told by my support company that it is very messy.
They advise doing a fresh installation. However, that is
a pain in the ass. I would wait until it has been out for
a while.

I'm running adprep /domainprep on the correct computer.
If I try one of the other servers, I'm told to run adprep on this one.
As I have written before, nothing happens.
After 1/2-1 second the command prompt return and nothing has been done.
If Microsoft had bothered to throw in a little message about what went
wrong, it sure would be nice.
On two other networks with only one server, the process works fine.
Shall I downgrade my other server to normal servers?
