- Connecting VPN before login
- Posted by Stephen on November 18th, 2003
Is there a way to Establish a VPN connection before logging in from a
Windows XP computer? I would think it could be done from a computer startup
script somehow. I would like to eliminate the need to select the dialup
option box and choose a connection every time somebody logs in remotely.

There is a check box on the login dialog to allow you to connect prior to
login processing.
This then allows you to choose which item in connection manager you wish to
use to make the VPN connection.
So all you need do is configure a VPN connectoid in your networking.

Is there a way to execute the connectoid from a startup script though? Some
of my users use VPN everytime they connect and I would like it to be
automated so they don't have to check the box and choose a connection.
