I have just demoted a DC out of my AD domain with DCPROMO
and it work flawlessly. My question is:

Is there anything else I need to do to make sure that the
DC is completely removed from AD, DNS, etc?

Hi Brain, Look if the server object still exist in Active Directory Sites
and Services, in the particular site it was removed from. Check DNS, and
cleanup related records.

also check ADUC, View-advanced, system, File Replication
Service, Domain System Volume, and be sure server is gone
from the list of DCs.
