- Domain security policy
- Posted by mike on February 25th, 2004
I tried to create a new user in my domain (Windows 2003
server) but when I tried to use a simple password (eg 7
lower case alphabetical character) it comes up with an
error "password does not meet minimum password length or
password complexity policy". I have tried using Domain
Security Policy tool to disable or even not implementing
the password complexity policy and setting the password
length to 4 character)but I still could not create a new
user! Is this a bug in Windows 2003 server or what am I
doing wrong? Please help
mike

Mike, run the command line based tool gpupdate to make sure the new policy
is in use at the particular domain controller.
Make sure Password must meet complexity requirements are disabled also.
