- Install adminpak.msi via GPO
- Posted by Dave Jones on February 24th, 2004
Got W2K3 domain. OU for W2K3 servers & OU for W2K server.
In the W2K3 OU, I can install the W2K3 admin pack, but
when I try to add the W2K adminpak to the W2K OU, it
fails, saying check package - it's the adminpak.msi
straight of the sp4 cd !.
Can I install the W2K3 adminpak on W2K servers (all
sp4) ? or is there somwthing I should do to the w2k
adminpak ?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

You have to use the Windows2000 Admin Pack for Windows 2000 Server.

Hi Dave,
You cannot install the Windows Server 2003 administrative tools on Windows
2000. The Windows Server 2003 administrative tools can only be installed on
a Windows Server 2003 system or a Windows XP system running Service Pack 1
(SP1).
