I need help
Posted by mike on October 23rd, 2003

I tried downloading a digital camera on my pc today
and an error came up sayin : Error Starting Program
! A required DLL file,
OLEACC.DLL, was not found.

I than did some research on it and found that microsoft
considers this a bug and gives you a simple solution to
reapir it. The solution was to go into my system
information than into my tools than into Version Conflict
Manager than restore my previous DLL file but there was
none in the box. What can i do to repair this problem?

That document assumes that you ran Windows 98's setup program. Did
you? That is, what did you do that altered OLEACC.DLL? Is it possible
that OLEACC was altered by something else that you installed? (I ask
because you need to avoid repeating the step that caused this
trouble.)

You need to install the latest version of OLEACC.DLL. My conjecture
would be that the needed version is included with the software for
your digital camera? I suggest that you (a) uninstall the camera's
software, (b) restart Windows, and then (c) reinstall this software.
To uninstall the software, go to Control Panel's "Add/Remove Programs"
module, highlight the camera software, and click on "Remove". Then
restart the system and install the camera software again.
