- Microsoft Calendar program
- Posted by Jim Harton on July 5th, 2003
In Windows 95 or 98 there was an included program called
Calendar which is supposed to alert you to upcoming
appointments.
I have carried this program over to Windows Me, since I
couldn't find one like it in Me. I put it on my C drive.
The problem that I have is that the program is supposed to
cause a sound at the time set in Calendar for that day.
Unfortunately, I have been unable to cause it to do so.
Further, when I set an appointment in Calendar and I come
back to Calendar a few minutes later, the entered
appointment doesn't show up.
I know that the dates and times I set were right and that
the Windows warning sound is enabled but there is no sound
at the appointed time, or any other indication that I had
scheduled one. Any ideas as to my problem? Best regards,
Jim

You can't install a program simply by putting the EXE file in the folder.
The problems you are seeing are exactly what would be expected in this case.
You need to find the application that includes Calendar (presumably it's
WORKS) and install the application using the provided procedure.
