The virus did change your file-associations. I found some info in previous
newsgroups for removing swen so try this:
Copy and paste the following to Notepad and save it to a floppy as
"a:\swenfix.reg". Start the problem computer in DOS, insert the
floppy, type "regedit a:\swenfix.reg" and press "Enter". Then type
"win" to start Windows.
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command]
@="\"%1\" %*"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\batfile\shell\open\command]
@="\"%1\" %*"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\comfile\shell\open\command]
@="\"%1\" %*"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\piffile\shell\open\command]
@="\"%1\" %*"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\regfile\shell\open\command]
@="regedit.exe \"%1\""
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\scrfile\shell\config\command]
@="\"%1\""
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\scrfile\shell\open\command]
@="\"%1\" /S"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\System
]
"DisableRegistryTools"=-
[End]

That would work, if the Doc could still run .EXE files...
Pardon my collegue here Doc, i think he misread.
Anyway, you could still try downloading the removal tool, but change the
filename extention from .EXE to .COM, that usually fools any incorrect
fileassociation and gets the file to run.

Which he can.
Collegue? Hardly. I misread nothing.
You are, and should not be, making unwarranted assumptions
about my capabilities and about those of the good doctor.
That is another common technique which has been noted many times
in this Newsgroup.
