mouse drivers won't work-so neither will any mouse
Posted by murrayphd on July 30th, 2003

On my Compaq notebook, with Windows 95, somehow BOTH the
PS2 port and the touchpad mouse drivers are no longer
installed. Thus, I am totally unable to use a mouse at
all. I have been trying to navigate with the keyboard,
but am stumped. Sometimes I can get to the hardware
screen showing the red X over the 2 mouse options, but I
have no way to move the cursor down (non-responsive to
arrow keys)to try to ...delete? not sure what...to
rectify the problem. Can't get the computer to
acknowledge the CD which may have a driver. Also, can't
get the accessibility properties to move to the mouse key
(arrow keys only shift back and forth on the sticky key
option). I really need help to get a mouse functioning!
I look forward to assistance.
