- Obtaining MS-DOS

Hi,
I'm repairing a PC for a friend, but they cannot afford Windows XP, so I was
going to install 95 or 98 on their computer. But I need DOS to install the
OS. I searched Microsoft's site, hoping they released it as a free download,
but I found nothing. Does anyone know if Microsoft still distributes it? If I
cannot get DOS, I will have to install Linux on their system, but they
(although willing) do not really want to have to learn to use it.

You don't need DOS to install Win9x.
You need a boot disk and a CD.
