personal banking access
Posted by michelle on May 22nd, 2004

I'm not very pc literate so please make your response real
simple. Thanks. My problem is this - - I used to be able
to access my banking transactions on a daily basis, showing
same day transactions. Now, my bank has introduced a new
system and I get an "error" message every time I try to
access. Incidently, I have Windows 95. I know!!! Anyway,
the error message reads "This virtual directory needs a
browser that supports the configured encripted options".
Greek to me. My bank advised me to download 5.5 or 6 which
I was unable to do because I'm using Windows 95. There
must be a way around this. I know these computer systems
can do almost anything if you know how. Please bear in
mind that I have exactly 55.5 MB left in my hard drive.
Can anyone help me. Thanks, Michelle.

Your bank is telling you that you need to upgrade your system in order to
use their services. The download you need is Internet Explorer version 5.5,
which runs just fine with Windows 95. However, 55.5Mb disk free space is
not sufficient for reliable operation of Windows, and you should take steps
to make more hard disk drive room available.
