About every 10 minutes or so when I move my mouse the
cursor on screen flies round and opens loads of windows.
The only way that I can then stop this is to Ctrl-alt-
delete and then choose cancel. This then allows me to
close all of the windows down.

Does anyone know of a solution to stop this from happening?
any help would be much appreciated.

Are you using antivirus software?

Is your antivirus software up to date?

Have you tried substituting another mouse for the one that appears to
cause trouble?
