Can someone help me? I can't access AUTOEXEC.BAT or
CONFIG.SYS through sysedit to remove references. Thanks

Why? What happens when you try?
Have you tried Notepad?
Are the files present in C:\ ?

I do not recommend editing these files in Windows mode, because they seem to
remain open until shutdow. Edit them in DOS mode, by pressing F8 during boot
(Starting Windows 95...) and selecting Command Prompy Only, typing:

edit autoexec.bat

or

edit config.sys

in order to remove such references. Your mouse might not operate in
real-mode DOS, so reach for the pull-down menus by pressing the Alt key and
navigating it with the cursor keys or the Tab or Shift-Tab combinations and
the Enter key, until you save changes and exit and finally reboot.
