The places Win9x uses to load at Startup:

-the load= and run= lines in the win.ini,
-the [386Enh] section of the SYSTEM.INI (.386 and .vxd files),
-the Startup folder, C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp
-the AllUsers folder C:\Windows\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

-the registry keys (in order of likeliness)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunServices
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\RunOnce
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunOnce
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunServicesOnce
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunOnce\Setup
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunOnceEx
(last one not Win95)

Please quote previous threads or nobody will know what you are talking
about and may ignore you.

What on earth is a "hidding arrow" in Win95?
....or are you using a later operating system where you have the option
to hide inactive icons?

You can stop icons appearing in the system tray by:
1. Uninstalling the program that put them there.
2. Seeing if that program has an option to not show the icon.
3. Removing the startup entry if you don't want to have it running.
4. Use a 3rd party application to stop them showing.

Why do you want to hide them?

You can do a search for 'msconfig' on Google and you may download
msconfig for Windows 98. It is compatible with Windows 95 (I know
version C, not sure about A or B). Save this file to your System32
folder. Then click Start, Run, type 'msconfig' and enter. Then click
the 'Startup' tab and select or deselect the programs you want running
at startup...this enables or disables the items on the taskbar beside
the clock.
