And how would a USB thumb drive show up in WIN 95? Would it create a new
drive letter like WIN XP? In Windows Explorer?

If (and that is a big IF) you can get it to work, it should create a
new drive letter in Explorer, like Win98.

I have personally never had a thumb drive work in Win95, even with the
right Win95 version.

I already tried it in my old Win95B computer, but it would not recognize an
Imation USB drive nor a digital camera. I had to assemble a newer computer
with Win98 Second Edition, for which manufacturers do provide drivers.

I believe your experience is not uncommon.

Likewise.

Paradoxically there are some fairly-reliable DOS USB drivers out there now,
and if you just need to get files onto the computer these may be the simplest
option. Just don't try to start Windows with the DOS drivers running though.
