- win95 and IE5 History problem
- Posted by TomC on May 7th, 2004
I'm running IE5 and deleted all the .dat files in my cookie folder (yes it
was dumb), now my history display is not working correctly. All the history
listings are shown with the generic unassociated file icon and I don't have
any folders, e.g.; days of the week or week folders. I thought IE5 would
rebuild all necessary files after the purge but that hasn't happened. I no
longer have Mm256.dat or Mm2048.dat. I'm not sure if any other pertinent
files were deleted. Other than a complete reinstall of IE5, any
suggestions? TIA.

Try opening Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, Clicking Internet Explorer
5 and Internet Tools, then Click Add/Remove. Choose the repair option.
Hope I have been of some help.
