- 30 second system freeze
- Posted by Gabriele Hauschild on November 17th, 2003
While working in WordPad the screen froze and no
inter_action was possible with the System.
Tried CTRL+ALT+DEL - no reaction and no reaction from
cursor or mouse. Waited about 30 seconds and the System
simply started responding once again. The Close Program
window did not appear as a reaction to the CTRL+ALT+DEL
which I done during the time the System had been frozen.
This has happened a few tim_es now.
I have current antivirus software and it checks clear.
I have AdAware 6 and SpywareBlaster and they system is
also clear of Spyware hijackers.
System File Checker, Scandisk and Defrag_ have all been
run.
Any ideas would be welcome as to what might be causing
this and how to resolve it.

Did you or do you get any error messages?
Is so what are they?
Did you install any new software/hardware recently?
Clean your computer fan in the back of the computer box and make sure that
the small fan on the motherboard for the CPU is running OK.
