I frequently get errors while online and my system needs
to RESTORE DESKTOP. Now while trying to load a critical
update I got this: Explorer caused general protection
fault in module DIBENG.DLL

I get faults while checking email, reading news,
practically anything I do.

It could be a lot of things, but since the DIBENG.DLL file is video-related, you might first try reinstalling or updating your video card drivers.

Next on the list might be doing a Repair on IE.
