Error: Initializing Device IOS Windows Protection Error

I have an IBM Pentium 3 600 ThinkPad that wont boot up I
am
Getting: Error Message: Initializing Device ISO Windows
Protection error, I have gone thru Microsoft data base
Article 263466 no luck, could it be the memory chip
Went bad? I have even fdisk and formatted the drive, I
Reinstalled a full installation of windows 98 2nd addition
And it does find till it has to reboot then I get the
error
Again, sorry for rattling but its 2:00am and I can't think
Straight anymore, please help.

This is actual for win 95,
However it might work for windows 98.
and again it might not work.

You need to start in safe mode. Then install it.
