- Free space in the boot sector
- Posted by Jerry McMurray on July 18th, 2003
Periodically, (regularily), my computer shuts down without
notice leaving programs that are open fragmented. Some
require re-installation. My 3200C HP scanner is still
locked up and unavailable. Scandisk log generated upon
restart indicates Windows is incorrectly reporting the
free space maintained in the boot sector. Can I add a pif
or command line that prevents Windows from incorrectly
reporting this critical area? Thanks
