- Hiding/Disabling the Taskbar
- Posted by Anita Taylor on August 28th, 2003
I manage a 20-PC tech center for children. We have a menu
shell that prevents them from seeing the desktop, so they
can only access the programs I place in the menu. That's
been great for keeping them out of areas they shouldn't be
in.
However, I'm having a small problem in that some of the
applications (educational games) they run are causing the
Taskbar to appear. Once they see the Taskbar, they're
using it to access the Desktop and everything else.
Is there any way on Win98 SE to disable or hide the
Taskbar? I've already unchecked the Always on Top and
resized the Taskbar to where it's invisible. However, when
you restart, the Taskbar is rebuilt to "normal" size.
Thanks for any ideas!
