I do not appear to have D3DM.DLL, nor is it in my Win98SE .cabs.
However...
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...=Google+Search
The few posts about it at Google indicate it is a DirectX 7.0 file that
misbehaves. Can you do the following...?...

The currupted files you have mentioned is a common occurance in directx
7 installs. The files you have mentioned should be of version 6 per
microsoft support . The files may not really be corrupted. System file
checker may think they are corrupted . (the file size may be off by a
couple bits, the dates may conflict, who knows). In system file checker
you can extract the files from c:\Windows\Sysbckup. The files were put
there during the install process.

Thanks or Good Luck,
There may be humor in this post, and,
Naturally, you will not sue,
should things get worse after this,
