- Pestpatrol junk?
- Posted by suryah on March 7th, 2004
I recently downloaded a free scanner from Pestpatrol. After using the
program, I uninstalled it.
Pestpatrol provide a file list and say that all the files went to
c:\windows\downloaded program files (on win98SE).
axscanner
axscannerruntime
ppctlcab
msvcr71
msvcp71
mscomctl
The file extensions are not given.
I then put these into start>find to check that they had gone. Of the first
three I can find no trace at all. However, the windows\system folder shows
similar files - two with .dll and one with an .ocx extension.
Are these legitimate MS files, or deletable Pestpatrol files?
