Problems
This article has a link in it to pages full of articles on shutdown
problems.

There are many screens of info at "START, Help, Contents,
Troubleshooting,
Windows 98 Troubleshooters, Startup & Shutdown section". (If you
encounter blank
Help screens there, then "START, Find, F&F, Tshoot.inf"; R-Clk it &
select
"Install". Your screens will return.)

An often offered fix is: "START, Run, MSConfig, Advanced tab". Check
"Disable
fast shutdown", if there. The item won't be there, if you have
downloaded a
certain patch from Windows Update.

| I am running Win 98 on an Emachine. When I SHUTDOWN, the
| PC automatically RESTARTS. Help! The only want I can
| turn the PC off is to pull the power plug. Then it runs a
| scandisk and asks me to reset the time.
