- WIN 98 SE shut down problem

When I go to shut down, computer restarts. Can only shut
down when I press power button on front of computer. Any
suggestions?

Warning! Read that article, first! DO NOT apply the Win98SE Shutdown Patch
except as a last resort, or unless other signs indicate that it is needed. It
may simply trade one problem for another.
First thing, though, it to Disable Fast Shutdown, in the Advanced section of
MSCONFIG (System COnfiguration Utility) *if* it exists. (If it doesn' texist,
the Shutdown Patch has already been applied and you may want to try uninstalling
it.)
Start=>Run=>(type)MSCONFIG<enter>
Click the Advanced button at lower right.
