i shut it down corectly but when i restart it goes
through scan disc----says the computer wasn't shut down
right. i get the windows shutting down screen but it
shuts down right away.

First see if you have the option to disable fast shutdown.
Start > Run, type in: msconfig and press enter
Under the General tab, click the Advanced button and place a check next to Disable Fast Shutdown.

This option may not be present if you installed an update that removed it.
