HELP! My computer is saying I do not have a cd rom
installed and I know I do! What can I do to correct this
problem?

/ start / settings / control panel / device manager
Look for yellow trouble markers against any CD ROM item.
The simplest solution is to / Remove the CD drive and
reboot. Win98 is then supposed to rediscover and
set up the drive.

If this does not work you can use / Add/Remove Hardware
to have Win98 search for a "new" CD-ROM drive
or else for you to provide details of the drive, then reboot.

If these methods fail, the CD drive may be broken.
Replacement is easy and cheap.
