Hi there,

probably a daft question, but is there any way to transfer pocketWord and
pocketExcel files from my WinCE 2.0 machine to my MacOSX laptop?

cheers

Steve

Steve,

Have you tried using PocketMac? Check their website, or go to the apple
website.

Not using Auto Sync. However with a Serial Cable (you'll need a Serial port
on the Mac) you can use terminal emulation. Other than that it's a CF
adapter.
Either way you'll need to save all Pocket Word files as .rtf's
Pocket Word / Excel under CE 2.00 doesn't support .doc's or .xls's. That
came in the next version.

I invested in a tiny 6-way card reader with USB connection, a couple
of 128MB CF cards and a CF to PC-Card converter. The reader and
converter cost about £20 (call it $35) and the memory cards about that
much each almost a year ago.

I can now transfer many megabytes rapidly between any machine that has
at least one of USB, CF or PC-Card slots. Fast sneakernet. It's how
I download stuff to my Linux PC for installation on my Jornada. Much
much faster than serial cable for anything more than a few kilobytes,
even taking into account the need to swap hardware.
