About MBS CRM Certified Exams.

I'm going to attend a MBS Master Certified Exam, which has 2 choices:
1. Microsoft CRM Developer (4 exams)
2. Microsoft CRM Installation & Configuration (6 exams)

I am MCSE&MCDBA 2000, I passed these exams in year 2001.
So I think, if I take the CRM Installation & Configuration Exam, can I pass
the 70-228 which is "SQL Server 2000"

Also, which certificate is better? Microsoft CRM Developer (4 exams) or
Microsoft CRM Installation & Configuration (6 exams)?

Thannks,
Jim

Hi Jim,

Which certificate is better, depends on what you want to achieve with your
certificate. Just like MCSD is not better or worse as MCSE. They're both good.
Based on your other certificates, MCSE, I would say that the Installation &
Configuration is fitting best to you.

Why dont you get both?

Thanks Ronald,

I have think about it, yes, the option2 is more suit me, but I think the
option1 only have 4 exams, so I'd like to take the option1 first.

The main reason is I have no enough time to prepare 6 exams.

Hi Jim,

Please correct me if I am wrong, but aren't most of the exams required for
Installation & configuration already included within the MCSE certification?
I believe it's only 2 extra exams (crm customization and crm installation &
configuration exams) to obtain the master certificate of Installation &
configuration.

I'll check this later on, because I would like to get certified master for
crm development. Although 4 exams are needed, 2 are in MCSD and only 2
specific crm exams (application development and customization).

Now it's time to go to sleep over here -> 4 o'clock in the morning

Ronald,

Actually, all four of the MCP (non-CRM) exams required for Certified Master
CRM Installation & Configuration are electives, or design electives, - not
core - for MCSE. Therefore depending on what particular exams happen to make
up your MCSE, and whatever others you've collected on the way, you may need
to take between 0 and 4 of these MCPs.

Thanks. that's great!
The thing is I am the MCSE+MCDBA in Windows 2000, not 2003.
I taken these exams in year 2001.

So I wonder if I can just take 2 exams for CRM Master Certificate.

Depends what your electives are! What are they?

Thanks Peter,

I can't remember that.
What I know is only the MCP ID.

How can I know that?

Cheers,
Jim
