- Activities by Business Unit Report
- Posted by Hansel Yune on December 9th, 2004
Hello all:
Our implementation of CRM uses multiple business units created under the top
level organizational business unit.
We are trying use the existing activities by type report as a basis but to
add a grouping by business unit. This report would only show activities by
a specific business unit. Currently our security model is configured such
that all activities are viewable across all business units. Any of the
default reports will not achieve our segration requirement.
Has anyone attempted a report similar to this? Where and how should we be
applying the business unit filter? Create a new view in the database or
modify the report's query string?
Thank you in advance

The easiest solution will probably be to modify an existing Crystal Report.
Business Unit is actually stored in the Activity table against each
Activity - it is just not shown.
If you modify a report (or creat a new one) you could make Business unit the
primary sort key and segregate your activity data.
Going to very easy in V2........
Guy.
