Adding additional licenses
Posted by cparrnelli on October 24th, 2006

We originally installed 3.0 through our action pack subscription and now
would like to add additional licenses. After hours of phone time with
multiple MS departments I was able to purchase 5 more licenses and the media
kit which is nothing more than a set of installation cds. Upon trying to
install the new PID I receive the error message "a server license has already
been added" Is there a way to install this without uninstalling my original?

Hi,

You can actually leave the CRM Metabase and MSCRM databases intact and
uninstall CRM and re-install CRM and during installation specify the new
license key and choose the option to use existing databases.

You will need to remove SRS databases (ReportDB, ReportTempDB) so the
isntallation proceeds.

Thanks

What is the best contact number for a registered partner using the MAPS
supplied CRM to call to get additional licenses?

do you honestly have to do an uninstall and reinstall of the entire app? We
had 10 original licenses, but are a certified partner now and have 100. Do I
have to uninstall the entire app to get these in? This would seem to me to
be poor design.

Thanks,
James
