Appointment name resolution

When creating an appointment using the 'CRM Appointment' in SFO
everything works as expected. However, subsequently any time the system
tries to access the record (e.g. when opening a reminder for the
appointment), the names of the original recipients of the appointment
do not resolve properly and are displayed in the format of
'domain\user' which cannot be resolved by Outlook. As a result, when
closing the window Outlook prompts with a "Microsoft Office Outlook
does not recognized domain\user" and you need to perform a lookup to
resolve these.

It seems that this issue occurs when the user is returning from offline
mode. Does anyone know how to get round this issue?
