- Changing CRM Server IP Address
- Posted by Robin Dexter on June 14th, 2005
Hi,
We have Installed CRM 1.2 on SBS 2003 and it worked OK.
Have had to change the server IP address.
After doing this CRM won't start up - typing the old CRM URL now brings up
the default companyweb site.
Any suggestions on how to get CRM going again - or do we need to re-install
CRM
Thanks

Hi Ropbin,
I would check two things
1. Try unregistering and registering the CRM security service.
- To unregister type “crmsecurityservice.exe –u” without the quotes in the
command prompt window and press enter. This may take a few seconds to
complete and will display text when it has completed successfully.
- Now you can re-register the service. Type “crmsecurityservice.exe –r”
without the quotes in the command prompt window and press enter. Again this
will take a few seconds to register and will display text if it was
successful or not. Note: If registering the service fails make sure that the
services window is not open on the CRM server. If it is please close it and
try registering the service again.
2. Check on the IIS manager if the CRM website has All Unassgined for the ip
adress or not.
Let me know how this goes

Robin,
Foregive me if this is stating the obvious to you, but open up the IIS
manager, and look at the web sites folder. Check the IP address of the
CRM web site on the list that appears on the right. If this is not the
same as the new IP, right click and select Properties, and change the
IP address. HTH,
Dave
