Client Installs, but functionality is not there
Posted by Ali Ersheid on July 9th, 2003

I'm having a strange problem with one of the CRM Clients on one user's
machine. After installing the Sales for Outlook software on his Windows
XP/Office XP Dell Latitude laptop, a Microsoft CRM folder appears in the
folders list, but it only contains two items: Custom Forms and Delete
Items. The user can access the CRM server using Internet Explorer without
any problems. I uninstalled and re-installed the Client server times to no
avail. I even tried the new release of the Client (June 2003 CD), but
without any success.

Has anyone experienced this problem or heard about it? My other users are
running the Client without any problems using almost identical
configurations.

Try this:

Document ID: 30311
Date Created: 4/21/2003
Date Last Modified: 5/12/2003 10:01:48 AM
Language: English - United States
Country: USA
Product: Microsoft CRM
Versions: 1.0
Modules: Microsoft CRM Installation, Microsoft CRM Sales for Outlook

Issue:
Cannot see the Microsoft CRM buttons in Microsoft CRM Sales for Outlook
Client.

Resolution:
1. Go to Outlook Menu and choose Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options
| COM Add Ins.

2. Remove the Microsoft CRM Outlook Add in.

3. Add the Microsoft CRM Outlook Add in back from this path C:\Program
Files\Microsoft CRM\Client\bin\crmaddin.dll and close Outlook

4. Reboot the machine.

5. Now you should see everything you need to see.
