Contact synch with Outlook
Posted by Bob Meehan on September 14th, 2004

All,

After testing a client's install we found that shared
data was not synchronized as stated below.

I am trying to limit the number of contacts that are
synchronized to Outlook and then on into a Blackberry.
Any thoughts on getting shared data to schronize would be
greatly appreciated.

Thx,

Bob

MSFT TechKnowledge shows that contacts that will be
synchronized include the following:

1. Contacts the user owns. These can be seen by going to
Microsoft CRM Shortcuts | Contacts | My Contacts view.

2. Contacts that have been shared with a user by any
other user in Microsoft CRM. This also includes contact
records that have been shared with a group this user is a
part of.

3. Contacts for which the user has access privileges. For
example, if the user has business unit privileges, all
contacts within their business unit will be synchronized
to Outlook.

I have found the same problem. This seems like a clear
bug in CRM.

No contacts are synching to Outlook at all?

(I assume you know that you have to Go Offline to get server data into CRM.)
