Contact synch with Outlook
Posted by Rick M on February 28th, 2007

My customer has 13,803 contact records in CRM. The users are all starting
with an empty Contacts folder and synching up the CRM contact records with
Outlook. All users are using the same data profile to synch all contacts.
Two users have the correct # of contacts showing up in Outlook. Other users
show 13,500 / 12,700 or something similar. Any ideas on why there would be
this discrepancy in the number of contacts synched?

Thanks,
-Rick M.

All,

I assume you are looking at the Synchronization Status dialog when you are
making the comparisons. If some users had some of data sync in the
background or they changed the records themselves, the synchronization has
already occurred for them and the number of records synchronized with differ
at that particular point in time.

Since some users may have contacts in Outlook that are not 'Tracked in CRM',
the total number of contacts in Outlook might not be representative.
