CRM 1.2 Email Router Installation Problem
Posted by duoduo on August 9th, 2004

Hello,

I just installed CRM 1.2 on Windows Server 2003 successfully. When I
tried to install the Email router on our exchange server, I got the
error message stating "One or more of the Microsoft CRM servers you
listed is invalid".

I tried the 14 steps listed at:
http://groups.google.com/groups?q=ex...x.gbl&rnu m=1

and found out that:
http://crm server name/MSCRMServices/bizuser.srf
- returned http 500 Internal server error
http://crm server name/MSCRMServices/bizusersdl.srf
- displays XML code

- both CRMISAPI.dll and ASPNET_ISAPI.dll exist.
- client machine can ping and nslookup CRM server
- client machine can access CRM through IE

Please, someone help me. I have been stuck for a few weeks.

You may want to check you have a valid .SRF mapping that points to your
crmisapi.dll file. You can do this through the IIS admin tool. Let us know
if you do not know how to do this.

Hi,
Check if SPN is registered correctly on all of your AD servers. If not, then
add it and wait untill it replicates on all the AD servers or force replicate
it. You will have to use ADSI Edit tool to do this. The SPN is stored on a
multi-valued attribute on the computer object in the Active Directory called
"ServicePrincipalName" and is in the form
MSSQLSvc/SQLServerName.Domain.com:1433

Check for this value perticularly on the LOGONSERVER of your exchange box.

Secondly, I suggest you should not have waited so long with the issue before
contacting support.

Hi John,

I do have valid .srf mapping and .soap mapping for MSCRMSERVICES. Why
only
http://mscrm.ecom.arizona.edu/MSCRMS...bizusersdl.srf returns xml
file, but not http://mscrm.ecom.arizona.edu/MSCRMS...s/bizuser.srf?

Thank you very much for your help!

Hi Qureshi,

Thank you very much for your information! Even though I do not quite
understand what it has to do with CRM and/or exchange server, our
system admin helped me out with it, but still get the same error
message when I retry to install the email router.

We have modified SPN accordingly so it has the
MSSQLSvc/SQLServerName.Domain.com:1433

What do you mean by LOGONSERVER? How should I do this?

Thanks for the suggestion.

I had the same problem with the invalid server error when
installing the email router. This is how I fixed it.
Open up the Crystal Configuration Manager and make sure
the WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service is running.
If not right click on it and click start. That was it.
Now try running the install again.

Hope that helps.

Hi:

I assume this is a multi-box installation? A lot of problems like this are
caused by incorrect DNS, your Excahnge server cannot find your CRM server,
etc.. If you open up a command prompt on teh Exchange box and type: nslookup
<crmservername> what happens?
