I have not found this but it was available in CRM v 1.2 - when you import
leads, contacts, etc. and you then look to map fields, you had the ability to
not import a certain data column - skip - if needed.

Now in CRM v3.0 I find you have to select some data field to map it to if a
column is present; therefore, having to have your import data file completely
scrubbed of data you don't want to import.
