CRM 3 Installation Issue
Posted by zuluzkiller on January 25th, 2007

I'm very new at this so patience please. I'm installing CRM 3 and during
system requirements check I get one error and I can't continue. Error
relates to SQL Server Reporting Service, here it is:

Setup failed to validate specified Reporting Services Report Server
http://linuxserver/reportserver. Error: Object reference not set to an
instance of an object.

As fas as I can see this service is running so I don't really know how to
fix it. If someone could help that would be great.

Try reinstalling Reporting Service before attempting to install MSCRM 3.

What would be the easiest way to do it?

I have some more information on this. I installed SQL SP1, which gave me more
descriptive error when installing CRM, it failed in the same place saying
that SQL 2005 developer edition (I was running that) Reporting Server is not
supported. So I removed this version of SQL and installed “normal” one. Now
CRM installs fine 
