- CRM 4.0 Activities Report
- Posted by Lisa B on January 13th, 2008
I can't get this report to work. I have a bunch of activities (completed) in
the system, with date created = 1/13/2008. If I run this report (editing the
date created criteria in the report to TODAY), I get no results.

The Activities report only displays activities which are regarding
opportunities or cases. If an activity has any other regarding object type it
will not display in the report.
Is this the case in your situation?

Yes, this is the case in my situation. I was hoping it would show me the
activities for an account or a contact. I am frequently asked by clients for
a report of salesperson activity where they just want counts or details of
the activities at the account or contact level.

You can use the new report wizard to create reports like this one of two ways:
1) Select a primary record type of Accounts or Contacts and a related record
type of Activities. The drawback to this method is that you will have to
create one report for Account activities and another for Contact activities.
2) Select a primary record type of Activities. The drawback to this method
is that you don't limit yourself to just reporting on Accounts or Contacts
(although this may be desirable). You might be able to limit the regarding
object types with the right filtering, though.
Hope this helps!
