- CRM-Exchange E-mail Router Question
- Posted by Jaime Velez on August 24th, 2003
I'm running MS CRM on and SBS2000 Server. I have not installed the Exchange
E-mail Router yet because I have not configured an Exchange server yet
(learning it now). However, I do want to start using the CRM application
right away and enter all my contacts, accounts, activities, etc. Would
there be any issues if I implement the e-mail router later on after I've
inputted all my data? Also, would my appointments and tasks only show up in
outlook once I start using an Exchange mailbox or could I use this option
without using Exchange?

You can run MS CRM as just the web application without any problems and
without future problems by adding the exchange router.
I would then get the exhange running (at least as an internal email system)
and configure email router. If you have successfully installed and
configured SBS 2000, MS SQL, IIS, and MS CRM you will not have much trouble
setting up the basic exchange server.
Add the exchange router.
Then I would add the Sales for Outlook to the client machines.
Good luck,
Regan
