CRM & GP

We are in a planning process of implementing CRM 4.0 & GP 10. My question are

1. What are pros and cons if CRM, GP and SQL are on a single sever?
2. If we have two servers for CRM & GP, what the configuation should be?
Can CRM & GP share a SQL which is installed on a separate server?

All the servers are domain members.

Thanks,

Jin

Hi Jin,

I would like to know how many users that you have using the CRM
system? will there be any integration between GP and CRM? Here's my
thought and I hope it will help you. If you are integrating the
system, my thought will be a little bit different on setting up your
environment.

1. I would not recommend putting everything to a single server.
2. I would put CRM and the GP application on the same server and
putting the databases to another server.
3. CRM and GP will able to share a SQL server.

Hi Darren,

Thanks a lot for the reply.

We will have max. 20 concurrent users in house for CRM and 10 for GP. Also
we will have a CRM web portal for our 1000+ members. The web portal will be
on a separate web server. CRM & GP will be talking to each other through
the CRM connector for GP. We will have CRM & GP implemented by a Microsoft
ISV. However we wanted to gather some information about a deployment which
is going to fit our needs the best. It makes sense to put CRM & GP
application on a server different from a SQL server. Thanks again,

Jin
