- CRM install - test and Production
- Posted by KT on December 1st, 2006
I created a separate OU on the domain when installing CRM on the test server.
Now, I am getting ready to install CRM on the production server in the same
domain. Should I be creating a new OU on the active directory or should I be
pointing it to the same OU as what the test server is pointing to.
Does each of these approaches offer any advantages/disadvantages

you should use a separate OU just as a matter of housekeeping. When you
install the second implementation, it will create AD groups with unique
identifiers, but better to give your OUs a descriptive name like "MSCRM3
PROD" and "MSCRM3 TEST" so you can identify them in the future.
