- CRM Installation
- Posted by DK on September 19th, 2005
Hello,
I want to install CRM client version for users who can log on to either
machine. One machine can be logged on by any user. Do I need to install the
CRM client version only one time which can be used by any user or I need to
install on the CRM server and load it from there?
Thank you,
DK

I think I might need to install it on the server because I tried to install
with local Admin user for each machine but I couldn't see the program when I
logged on with a CRM user. And each CRM user doesn't have privillege to
install it too.
What should I do. Anyone has any idea for this.
Thank you,
DK

If you are talking about the Outlook client then you can only install it for
one user per machine. Ensure that you only have one mail profile on the
machine as the client install will bind to that. Also the client app must
be installed by the user who should be given local admin privilages
(although there may have been a patch to remove this requirement somewhere
along the line)
You cannot install the Outlook Client on the CRM server.
Just to re-itterate - you cannot have multiple users accessing the Outlook
client on one machine.
If you are not talking about the outlook client then they can all access
MSCRM via the web browser client from a common machine if required.

Thank you Cozy. I was thinking about this too. But how can I do if I have
multiple users using in one machine. Do you know what is going to be if I
install Outlook Client per user?

Hi Cozy,
Sorry I'm kind of new for CRM. I did try to add permission for a user to
install the program, but it didn't work. How can I do?
Thank again,
DK

You can NOT install the SFO client for multiple users on the same machine.
It isn't supported and will not work. With v3.0, there will be support for
this, but not till then. In the mean time, the multiple users will need to
use the web client.
