Data Migration Manager Problem Installing With No Internet Access
Posted by jimtait00@gmail.com on May 14th, 2008

I cannot install the Data Migration Manager on our virtual server as
the installation always attempts to download and install the Visual C+
+ Runtime Components (even if they are already installed).
This is impossible at the moment however as to install these
components Internet Access is required (no network internet access
available in office at the moment).
Problem can be found in Microsoft Knowledge Base here...
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950421

The suggested solution for an offline installation in the above KB
article does not work either so I am stuck. :-(

Any suggestions as to a workaround?

Thanks in advance,
Jim

I think the runtime components are on the CRM install DVD. It may be
worth a shot to have that in the virtual machines DVD drive and see if
it pcks it up from that.

There is another thred on exactly the same issue running at the moment
(either here or the dev group) so I'd keep an eye on that and see if
they come through with the goods.
