I just added an attribute using the schema manager... and transposed two
letters. How can I either delete (and reenter) the attribute or rename it?

After you have created an attribute there is not a way to
delete or rename it (the name text box is grayed out) -
you can restore from a SQL back though and start over

It can be done manually, but it's difficult and messy
