Deploying CRM 4.0 Outlook client with GPO
Posted by Dave Ireland on April 28th, 2008

Hi;

Has anyone seen any guidance on how to roll out the CRM 4.0 Outlook Client
using Group Policy?

In CRM 3.0, MBS provided instructions but I cannot find them for v4.0.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for posting in. This is Ken in Online Partner Support.

For my understanding, the document which describes about GPO distribution
is the implementation guide. Have you already referred this document?

Kind Regards,
Ken

Ken,

The issue is not deploying CRM for Outlook using Group Policy; or ths basic
configuration (ie CRM URL, on premise/hosted). That all works.

The issue is centralised control of all the various settings within each
users CRM Options.

Is there a group policy .adm file available or planned?

Hi Peter,

Every user need to select "options" when they install the CRM via GPO. So
it is not full auto installation. For my understanding there is no adm file
to configure the installation for CRM 4.0
