Email Router Install Issue
Posted by Greg on October 6th, 2005

Installing email router on my primary domain controller and keep getting this
error, "One or more of the Microsoft CRM servers you listed is invalid or
you do not have administrator privileges on the server. Make sure that all
servers are running properly and try again."

I have a second domain controller where the CRM server is installed. I can
browse to the CRM browser interface in the second domain controller and it
works fine.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like you can't write to the registry. When you install the router you
have to be able to accesses the registry of the CRM server to create keys
that refer to the Microsoft CRM server.
Turn on the Remote registry service on the CRM server which is disabled by
default on Windows 2003.

It's been that way since the 1.0 Beta

If you upgraded the server from Win2k to Win2003, Microsoft suggest
something else.

Run Regedit. Go to the following location and perform the operation.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\SecurePipeServers\winreg
3. Right-click winreg, and then click Permissions.
4. If the Local Service entry does not appear in the Group or user names
box, follow these steps:a. Click Add.
b. Verify that User, Groups, Or Built-In Security Principles appears in the
box underneath Select this object type.
c. In the Enter the object names to select (examples) box, type Local
Service, click Check Names, and then click OK.

5. In the Permissions for winreg dialog box, click Local Service.
6. Under Permissions for Local Service, verify that the Read check box is
selected in the Allow column.

Hope this helps
