Email without Exchange Server
Posted by Shoaib on October 9th, 2007

Is there a way to configure the email settings without installing the
Microsoft Exchange Server. I mean, I am using the web client only at the
moment and I want to figure out a way to send and receive emails with out the
exchange server since I have not installed the Exchange server at the moment.
Is it possible at the moment ? If yes how. During installation I gave it my
company's stmp server but I can't send and receive emails.

I will be grateful for any suggestions.

Regards,
Shoaib.

I havent read the document in full as I use exchange but it looks like
this may be the best place to start.

Hi,

With the new version of CRM (4.0) it will also be possible to connect to a
POP3 compliant server. This might be a littlebit more convenient for you.
Till then you could store incoming mail using the CRM for Outlook client
(Track in Crm button).

Best regards,

BTW, that error message indicates that the user does not have an email
address specified in their CRM user profile.
